After looking around I couldn't find a replacement laser for under $40.00, but was able to find a used (but working) drive for $60.00 including shipping. So I've decided to just spend the extra money and buy the whole drive.

Buying the whole drive will make fixing this old PS3 a very easy task. It will just require removing a few screws to replace the control board from the new drive with the control board on my old drive. You have to do this because the control boards are locked to the systems motherboard, but after that it just entails connecting a few cables and putting the case back on.

So I'm sending back the laser I bought last week (should have done this already) and hopefully will receive the new drive in soon!

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.amazingaaron.com/blog/2011/6/3/new-youtube-video-roses-at-home-vacation.html"><rss:title>New YouTube Video- Rose's at Home Vacation.</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.amazingaaron.com/blog/2011/6/3/new-youtube-video-roses-at-home-vacation.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

I have a lot of other videos that I need to get edited and uploaded as well. Were getting close to being done with the house so hopefully the lag between shooting video and uploading it will shorten!

Okay so I bought a PS3 at a yard Sale about a week ago. I got it for $15.00 because the Blu-ray drive does not work. The system works fine just as long as you do not need to use a Blu-ray, DVD or CD, which pretty much makes the system worthless.

Soon after buying it I tore into it and did some research. Turns out that the laser lens is at fault, so I went on ebay and bought a replacement lens. I just received the lens yesterday, unfortunately it was the wrong type. I ordered a KES-410A which has two lenses in it. One for reading Blu-rays and the other for DVDs/CDs. Turns out the system I bought uses an older model laser lens that works with just one lens providing both functions. The only problem is that the older lens cost more to replace (they don't make them anymore), and they are not as reliable as the new dual lens (hence the reason they don't make them anymore).

I hope to exchange this new lens in for the type I need (+ some extra cash), and hopefully have a working PS3 for less than it would have cost to go buy a new slim model or even buy a used one. Plus I'm learning a lot, and thats worth something!

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.amazingaaron.com/blog/2011/4/2/our-big-boy-is-gone.html"><rss:title>Our Big Boy is Gone</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.amazingaaron.com/blog/2011/4/2/our-big-boy-is-gone.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Pets Videos Videos Pets</dc:subject>

As some of you may know my 9 year old cat Big Boy has been the victim of animal abuse. Other pets in our neighborhood have also been targeted, unfortunately Big Boy was killed. Its been hard to deal with, and I just wanted to fill you all in on what has happened so far.

Our cat Big Boy was fixed and was always near-by the house. He was always by the door waiting to be fed, so we got worried when he did not show up for breakfast last monday morning. Since moving in 2 years ago, we have had trouble with a neighbor. He is just generally a nasty person with a bad attitude and the whole neighborhood has trouble with him. We have personally had to call the police on him multiple times for things like him trespassing and verbally harassing us. We also suspect that he has been shooting arrows at pets in the neighborhood. One cat and a dog have come up with arrows through them. There are also missing pets, and one pet owner had to take there cat to the vet because he had his leg caught in a trap that the accused neighbor admitted to setting. He said it was for possums but we do not even have possums here in town. I think he gets sick pleasure from harming pets and causing trouble. I also suspect that he is on drugs.

When we seen that Big Boy was missing we immediately suspected that the neighbor could have done something. We looked up the street and noticed that his trash bin was set out and feared the worst. My dad went up the street and looked in the bin. Our cat Big Boy was the only thing inside, laying with his head beat and poked to death!

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.amazingaaron.com/blog/2010/4/24/how-do-you-like-the-new-site-design.html"><rss:title>How do you like the new site design?</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.amazingaaron.com/blog/2010/4/24/how-do-you-like-the-new-site-design.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Okay so I finally got the site updated like I wanted. I’ve just been really busy moving, fixing our new place and planning some great videos for you all.
I was also fortunate enough to be one of the few that got selected to have a Windows 7 house party! I didn’t even think I would be selected when I applied, but I was, and now I have to have a party LOL!
